Having grown up in Colombo, Eshantha and studied under teachers Ramya de Livera Perera and
Ananda Dabare. On a scholarship from Prima Ceylon, he
studied at New York
University’s Steinhardt School where he earned a
Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Performance
and Composition.
Eshantha is currently a principal conductor of the
Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka, co-director of the Old
Joes' Choir, and director of Contempo Choir, a member of
the the fusion band
Thriloka,
and The
Colombo Trio.
